Being a student is hard.  Being a student filmmaker is hard. In fact being a broke student interested in filmmaking is even harder. But! You cant let this stop you from doing your short film. Because you’re a student and can’t really pay anyone this may mean trouble.  This may mean trouble because your cast and crew may not be available when you would like them too. Unless you have other students seriously interested in getting their start in film like you are.

Beginning things can be difficult especially beginning the production for a short film.First you would need to get past the doubts that you can even make the film. Second you would need to get past the doubts that you don’t have an $1,000+ budget to make the film.There are lots of doubts that can go on in ones head after they finally finish the script. It can really be an interesting experience. But you have to keep going. There are times when you get to a point where you might not want to do your shorty film anymore, but you know, in the end you might regret it.

The Power of Persistence

You feel it. Its over. You’ve made it. You have a sense of happiness and relief.

Thats what you will feel when you kept going. When you made it through the tough times. When you’ve done all that you could to make you film great. Despite all of that challenges you can look back and smile. You can share you film with others. And you, your family and friends are proud of you for doing what you set out to do. And you know, you wouldn’t have made it without that one thing.

But things happen. Things happen and you have to change you plans. Things like this happen in life and they are unfortunate but you have to move on. Sometimes you have to change your location because you don’t have enough funds to film there.

Who would you like to be in your film?Who would be best to play the character you wrote? Who would be the easiest to work with?  These are all things you should think about before looking for talent.  Looking for talent that perfectly fits the character you would like to put in your film/video may be a little harder if you are just starting out.
